Next time you’re watching an Overwatch League match, don’t be surprised if Toyota makes an appearance too. Blizzard announced on Thursday that the league has officially agreed to a sponsorship with the company.
This means Toyota will display some on-screen ads during Overwatch League broadcasts.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Toyota to the Overwatch League,” said Pete Vlastelica, president and CEO of Blizzard Entertainment’s MLG division, in a press release. “When we were building the league, our desire was to create a premium experience for players and fans, and partners like Toyota are helping us do just that.”
Fans seem just as excited for the partnership as both Toyota and Overwatch. Behind this deal, Toyota will be expected to offer “behind-the-scenes content”, “additional broadcast integrations”, as well as “a vehicle presence at Blizzard Arena Los Angeles” for fans.
Partnering with the car manufacturer is a little different from Overwatch’s other sponsors such as HP and Intel, so this will surely be an exciting turn of events for everyone.
